Part I
The study has been prepared (in Hungarian) for the "Decade of Health" programme of the Ministry of Health, Social and Family Affairs. The task of the study is to present the health care situation in Hungary in terms of administrative regions according to available demographic, morbidity, mortality, financing and other statistical data. It aims to assist in the organisation of regional level health care delivery, to point out possible inequalities of access to services, and to serve as a foundation for planning the ideal "model region".

Part II - Comparative analyses
This part presents examples to demonstrate what additional information can be gained when the separate indicators examined in Part I are brought into relationship with one another. In general these analyses do not provide specific conclusions for individual regions, thus they are reviewed in a unified manner.
