Euprimecare - Quality and Cost of Primary Care in Europe
|
(About the project funded by EU)
The overall objective of the Euprimecare project is to describe different primary care models in EU, assess their quality in different dimensions - particularly in access, equity, appropriateness and satisfaction -,
determine their cost and analyse the links between quality and cost in each model by using research methods. The project will be implemented in the consortium framework with the coordination of Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ES).
Besides the coordinator 7 partners - located in 6 EU countries - participate in the consortium, one of them is ESKI / GYEMSZI .

Kauno Medicinos Universitetas (LT)
Universita Commerciale Luigi Bocconi (IT)
National Institiute of Primary Health Care (OALI) (HU)
Key research milestones of the project will be the following:
1. to apply an innovative approach to identify and describe European primary care models,
2. to develop and pilot a methodology to study relevant healthcare costs at macro and micro-level, and
3. to combine surveys addressing perceptions of public and health professionals along with a review of clinical data to assess quality.
4. The results of the project will develop, test and apply a valid framework for trans-national comparisons of quality attributes and costs of primary care services.
Duration of the project is 36 months, from the 1st January 2010. During the project 8 work packages will be implemented. Each work package has been built around specific tasks needed to achieve the project's objectives:
WP1: Management and coordination
WP2: Primary care models in Europe
WP3: Methods for costs
WP4: Measurement of costs
WP5: Methods for quality
WP6: Measurement of quality
WP7: Analysis:cost and quality
WP8: Dissemination
ESKI / GYEMSZI will contribute to all WPs, the institute is task leader in the analyses of primary care's expenditure at macro level, belonging to WP4.
EUprimecare project is funded under the European Commission's 7th Framework Programme
